Satellite Rosetta tracks near Earth object

After 31 months of hibernation, the European Space Agency satellite Rosetta has completed the first leg of its journey to confirm sighting of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Rosetta's mission to put a lander on the surface of the 4.5km wide near earth object will likely take place in November, 2014. This lander will analyze materials that have remained undisturbed since since our solar system formed 4.6 billion years ago. More information about the status of the satellite Rosetta's systems is still to come.
