Zoo kills healthy baby giraffe and feeds corpse to lions
An 18-month-old giraffe named Marius was killed today at a zoo in Denmark.
Copenhagen Zoo killed the giraffe as he was "surplus". There was too many giraffes in the zoo, so Copenhagen decided to use him as food for other animals.
The giraffe was killed via a bolt gun and then was cut up in front of zoo-goers. Families watched as Marius was butchered and then was fed to lions.
Copenhagen released a public statement saying that the giraffe was killed to prevent inbreeding at the zoo.
