Scientist Discover a Connection of Laughing to Learning
A new study
published in the journal Cognition and Emotion
suggests
laughter helps children learn new tasks. A study in France was conducted
involving 53 children around 18 months old, in which a toy duck was picked up
with a rake. In a controlled group, the duck was picked up with a straight
face. Although in a tested group the
duck was picked up in a way to make the child laugh such as throwing it
unexpectedly on the ground. 94% who
laughed from the duck being picked up in a funny way, were able to mimic
retrieving the duck and were able to do it a lot faster.
